Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebration: There is a grand temple in Telangana. Which is knowing as Bhadrachalam Temple. A grand celebration is organized here every year on Ram Navami.

Sita Rama Kalyanam festival takes place every year at the Bhadrachalam temple in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. This year the local government there had banned live streaming of Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebration.

But the Indian Election Commission got the live streaming of Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebration done.

Let me tell you that the decision to ban the live telecast of Sita Ram Kalyanam was canceled by the EC. Now the devotees watched the festival through digital and electronic media.

Every year, Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebration is a grand event in Telangana.

A unique tradition happens here. In this tradition the Chief Minister, Ministers and official administration of the state participate in the Kalyanam celebrations. 

In this, silk clothes and pearls are offered to the deity in the form of Talambaralu. The entire event including the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Sita is streamed live with commentary.

Usually streamed live on TV channels, especially Doordarshan and All India Radio. Which reaches millions of viewers across the state and country.

The screening committee of the Telangana Endowments Department approached the Election Commission (EC). Requested not to allow live broadcast during that period.

When the state is under the Model Code of Conduct. However, the Election Commission rejected his appeal. These orders were issued on 4 April.

The next day, MP Dr. K. Laxman and former MLC N. 16 BJP Telangana leaders including Ramachandra Rao protested. They all contacted the State Election Commissioner.

He appealed to review the decision of the Election Commission. Requested to allow live telecast and commentary for the public. A request letter was submit for this.

Congress leader and minister Konda Surekha also wrote a letter to the Election Commission. He sought permission for live telecast of Bhadrachalarm Seetharamula Kalyanam.

He put a condition in this Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebrations program. It should not show political leaders attending the programme.

This decision of the Election Commission came out on 15 April 2024. EC cancels decision to ban live telecast of Sita Rama Kalyanam program.

BJP MP Dr K Laxman said after the Election Commission canceled the decision.

“This is the victory of Hindus. With rifles on their shoulders, Telangana Congress government and CM Revanth Reddy attempted to thwart the live telecast of Bhadradri Sri Ramudi Kalyana Mahotsav. However, BJP and Ram Bhakt were successful in getting permission from the Central Election Commission.”

Talking to the organizer on this issue, Hyderabad lawyer Venu said.

“The live telecast of the Kalyan Mahotsav of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Sita went on without any problem. This was the code of conduct during the 2014 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections”.

What is Bhadrachalam Sri Rama Navami celebration?

Sri Rama Navami, the Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Rama. It observes with great religious fervor in Bhadrachalam. 

The celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and his consort Sita Devi. It took place at the Midhila stadium at Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple.

This event is a significant part of the festival. It attracts devotees from various places. Who gather to witness the grandeur of the celebrations. 

The festival was celebrated on April 17, 2024. It also makes the occasion at the Nagul Meera dargah in Kothagudem. The symbolizing of unity of different faiths. 

The Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam is renowned for these grand celebrations. Where the wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and Sita is commemorates with much fanfare.

The history Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple dates back to Treta Yuga. Bhadrachalam city has been a part of the Dandakaranya forest.

Lord Shri Ram was in this forest. Maa Sita and Lakshman stayed with him during their exile. There is Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple in Bhadracham town.

It is an ancient and renovates temple in the entire Telangana state. It is part of the Ramayana circuit. This Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple is very old.

The present structure of the temple was builts by Kancharala Gopanna in the year 1674. People know him by the name of Bhakta Ramdas. 

There is a unique tradition in a program of this temple by the state government. Ramnavami sees the annual gift of Mutyaalu (pearls), Talambaralu (rice poured on the bride and groom as a blessing).
